Lexical Approach
Lexical Approach The lexical approach influences the perceptions of teaching and learning vocabularies in language. The choice of vocabularies in a language is commonly well predicted and not merely a coincidence. From the lexical approach, language is not only composed of formal grammar and word phrases but equally prefabricated words ‘chunks’. Therefore, it is paramount to examine lexical approach in teaching considering both arguments for and against this concept. There are three views in support of teaching with lexical approach. First, it helps to adopt wide phraseological concepts that are closely integrated with contextual models of language. Phraseology constitutes an ideal way of word combination that is deemed a preferred mode of communicating specific messages or otherwise regarded as convenient routines in language production.
